What we say, and why.

Team Avenue since 2009

Thomari Story-Harden started Team Avenue Baseball as a player-development program. Team Avenue held its first travel-team try-out in June 2009, and teamavenue.org was registered the same month. The earliest photo in this archive is from the Dominican Republic trip in December 2014.

60+ camps, clinics, showcases and tournaments

Team Avenue's records document more than 60 camps, clinics, showcases and tournaments from 2009 to 2021, from California and Arizona to Florida, Georgia and Alaska. Highlights: the Bob Bennett Clinics (2010–2011); the MLB RBI program in California's Central Valley (2010–2012); a trip to Beijing in August 2012, where Team Avenue's 13U and 15U teams both took second place; Perfect Game national events (2013–2018); summers in Alaska (2014 and 2015); Dominican Republic trips with college coaches from Brown and Georgetown (2014–2016), covered by KSEE TV in 2014; and three Caribbean Baseball Cruise Camps, including the eight-day December 2018 Caribbean Baseball Cruise Camp out of Miami with Reggie Smith.

Helping student-athletes pursue college and professional baseball

Team Avenue took players to Perfect Game national events and traveled with college coaches, giving student-athletes a path toward college and professional baseball. The players speak for themselves: athlete voices from the cruise camp talk about the trip, the work, and what they carried home.

Reggie Smith on staff

Reggie Smith, seven-time MLB All-Star and 1981 World Series champion, is Team Avenue staff and has mentored Thomari for 20 years. He coached Team Avenue's December 2018 Caribbean Baseball Cruise Camp, and he is named on camera in the dugout interview below. Career record: Baseball-Reference.

Coach Bob Bennett

Bob Bennett mentored Thomari and helped build Team Avenue after retiring from Fresno State. He led Team Avenue winter clinics in 2010 and 2011, and Team Avenue's 2016 mission statement listed him as staff.
