Bridge, construction or permanent: matching the loan to the stage of the deal

Picking the wrong kind of loan can cost more than a higher rate.

  • Construction loans fund a build. The money goes out in draws as work gets done.
  • Bridge loans cover a transition, such as a renovation, a rebrand or a lease-up. They're short-term by design.
  • Permanent loans fit a property that's stable, with steady operations and a track record.

The question isn't which loan is cheapest. It's what stage your property is in today and where it'll be when the loan comes due.

Terms vary by lender and deal, and none of this is a quote or an offer.
